Children of the same age may need different karts
- Pedal reachThe child must reach full brake travel without sliding forward.
- Seat and restraintThe seating position must keep the driver stable under braking and cornering.
- UnderstandingThe child must follow stop, slow and pit instructions immediately.
Ask four questions before booking
- Minimum height and age for the junior kart.
- Whether adults and juniors drive together.
- Equipment supplied by the venue.
- Wet-weather and rescheduling arrangements.
Keep the first session short and focused
One clear briefing and a manageable session are more useful than pushing a tired child through extra track time. Stop if pedal control or concentration drops.
Build a regular rhythm only if the child wants it
For continued driving, use the same kart class and circuit often enough to compare lines and consistency. Move up only when fit, control and confidence are all ready.
