A useful four-stage progression
| Stage | Main goal | Do not rush |
|---|---|---|
| Rental four-stroke | Lines, braking and flags | Late braking |
| Faster four-stroke | Consistency at higher speed | Setup changes |
| Rotax | Two-stroke throttle and braking | Racing before coaching |
| X30 | High-rpm control and race craft | Buying equipment without local support |
Upgrade when the data supports it
Move up when lap variation is small, you can explain where time is lost and you remain predictable in traffic. Feeling bored is not a driving metric.
A coach should identify the cause of lost time
Useful coaching connects data and observation to one or two changes you can repeat. It does not simply tell you to brake later everywhere.
Competition rules and full cost
Competition cost includes entry, tyres, engine work, transport, storage, mechanic support and accident damage. Choose the class around the events and support available where you will actually race.
